The access control system is used to determine the floors that can be reached based on the door access control credential given by the authorized person. It also restricts access to certain parts of your building/floors. Only authorized users verify their identities using RFID keycards & fobs etc.

An access card is required to operate some or all of the floor selection buttons in the elevator & the system is designed in such a way to access/restrict the entries. The access control system is typically programmed so that a user’s card only works on the specific floors to which he or she requires access. Only once a proper credential is used, the system unlocks the door access.
